Korean hotel check-in phrases: confirm the reservation and room details

Check a reservation name, room type, breakfast, checkout and unresolved requests in a complete Korean front-desk exchange.

Confirm the reservation before discussing extras

A hotel check-in usually begins with a simple exchange: you say you have a reservation, and the employee asks for the name. 예약했는데 체크인하려고 합니다 means ‘I have a reservation and would like to check in.’ From there, a few useful nouns help you talk about the room and the details of your stay.

This lesson follows a fictional booking where the guest expected a twin room but the desk initially finds a double room. The point is to give you a calm way to explain the difference and ask for another check. Breakfast, checkout times, and extra requests depend on the booking, so the questions help you find the answer for your own stay.

Recognise the front-desk nouns that carry the booking

예약자 이름name on the reservation
객실 종류room type
조식 포함breakfast included
체크아웃 시간checkout time
Match the reservation, room, included service and time before ending the exchange.

체크아웃 시간checkout timeyou record the property-specific time

추가 요청additional requestyou confirm whether a request was accepted

예약자 이름 is the name on the reservation, and 객실 종류 is the room type. These are useful when the employee searches for the booking or confirms what has been reserved. 예약했습니다 says you made a reservation; 예약자 이름은 …입니다 supplies the name they can look up.

조식 포함 means breakfast included. You can ask 조식이 포함되어 있나요? rather than trying to infer it from the room price. 체크아웃 시간 is the checkout time, and 추가 요청 is an additional request. Learning those as short phrases makes a front-desk reply easier to recognize.

Separate a request from its status

Pattern or sentenceNatural meaningPoint to notice
The reservation name is Min Seoyun.give the exact booking name
I booked a twin room.으로 marks the booked room type here
Is breakfast included?ask rather than infer from a room rate
Has the late-checkout request been confirmed?요청 and 확인 are separate

트윈룸으로 예약했어요 states the room type you booked: a twin room. 조식이 포함되어 있나요? asks whether breakfast is part of the booking, and 체크아웃 시간이 몇 시예요? asks what time checkout is. Each question gives the employee one clear detail to answer.

If you asked earlier for late checkout, 늦은 체크아웃 요청은 확인됐나요? asks whether that request has been confirmed. 요청해 두었어요 means you already made the request. It describes your action, while 확인됐나요 asks about its current status. For a new request, 늦은 체크아웃이 가능할까요? asks whether late checkout would be possible.

Check in and resolve one mismatch

SpeakerKoreanMeaning
I have a reservation and would like to check in.
What name is the reservation under?
It is Min Seoyun. I booked a twin room.
It appears as a double room.
다시 확인해 주시겠어요?I will show you the confirmation. Could you check again?

The employee’s 예약자 성함이 어떻게 되세요? politely asks for the reservation name. 성함 is the respectful word for someone else’s name. The guest can simply answer 민서윤입니다; there is no need to copy the honorific word into a statement about their own name.

When 더블룸으로 확인됩니다 does not match the guest’s twin-room booking, the guest offers the confirmation and asks 다시 확인해 주시겠어요? ‘Could you check again?’ 예약 확인서를 보여 드릴게요 makes the next step clear. The exchange gives both people the same information to look at instead of leaving the difference unexplained.

Use the written confirmation as shared evidence

A reservation confirmation may be an email, an app screen, or a printed document. In this conversation, it helps identify the room type the guest booked. If you need to point to a detail, 여기에는 트윈룸이라고 나와 있어요 means ‘It says twin room here.’ That keeps the discussion tied to the relevant field.

A reply such as 확인해 드릴게요 means the employee will check for you. It is a helpful response, but the result comes afterward. You might then hear 가능합니다, saying it is possible, or 어렵습니다, saying it would be difficult. Recognizing that difference helps you follow the conversation through to the actual answer.

Correct likely misunderstandings

AvoidUse or checkWhy
추가 요청은 확인됐나요?a request is not the same as approval
성함 normally honors another person’s name
조식이 포함되어 있나요?the booking record must answer the question

입니다 sounds awkward in an ordinary self-introduction because 성함 honors the person whose name is mentioned. 입니다 is the straightforward choice for your own name. The employee can use 성함 respectfully when asking you, while you answer with 이름 or just your name.

조식 포함 and 추가 요청 describe different booking details. Breakfast may be included, while an extra request may still need an answer. A short follow-up such as 조식은 몇 시부터예요? asks when breakfast starts, and 늦은 체크아웃이 가능한가요? checks the extra request. You can ask about each detail without repeating the whole booking.

Try it in a familiar situation

The desk finds a double room, but your confirmation says twin room. What could you say next? Then ask whether breakfast is included.

Read the explanation

다시 확인해 주시겠어요? states the difference, offers the confirmation, and asks for another check. A reply promising to check is the next step in the conversation, rather than the final room confirmation.
