The learning guides are available to read without creating an account. The current learning pages do not include a payment form, a newsletter signup, or a public comment form.

Information involved in using the site

Website delivery and security

When you access a website, its hosting and delivery systems receive technical information such as an IP address, requested page, time of access, and browser details. This information may be recorded in operational or security logs to deliver pages, diagnose problems, and protect the service. This WordPress site is hosted with Hostinger.

Email enquiries

If you email the operator, the message includes your email address and any information you choose to send. That information is used to understand and respond to your enquiry, investigate corrections, or handle a privacy request. It is processed through the email provider, Gmail. Do not include sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.

Learning exercises

The answer buttons in the introductory Hangul guide run in your browser. This version does not submit your answers to a learning account or store a progress history.

Visitor statistics

We use WP Statistics to understand how often these guides are read and to display an estimated visitor count on the homepage. Counting began on September 3, 2026. The counter covers this website, not the separate Korea From a Local travel blog.

The statistics tool records page visits, access times, referring websites, browser and device information, and approximate location when available. These records are stored in this website’s WordPress database. We enable IP masking and hashing with a value that changes daily, rather than retaining full IP addresses in the statistics records. We do not enable full user-agent storage or association with logged-in user accounts. Hosting security logs are separate.

WP Statistics does not set analytics cookies. We respect the browser’s Do Not Track setting and exclude logged-in administrators and known bots. Browser blocking, shared connections, and changes in devices can affect the estimate.

“Today” means estimated visitors during the current day in Korea Standard Time. Multiple visits from the same daily identifier count once that day. “Total” adds the daily counts, so someone returning on a different day can be counted again. It is not a lifetime count of distinct people. Homepage counts refresh periodically and may briefly lag behind visits.

Cookies and external services

WordPress and the hosting service may use cookies or similar technology for administrative login, security, or site operation. Your browser lets you review, delete, or block cookies; restricting necessary cookies may affect some functions.

This design loads web fonts from Google Fonts. A font request connects your browser to Google’s servers and sends technical request information, including your IP address. See Google Fonts’ privacy information.

Links to dictionaries and other learning resources take you to external websites. Those services have their own privacy practices. This site does not automatically embed their lessons or video players.

No advertising code has been added as part of this version of the learning pages. If Google advertising is enabled, the following information applies to that advertising.

Enquiry emails are kept as needed to respond, follow up, and maintain relevant correspondence. Hosting and email providers may also retain operational records or backups under their own policies. This site does not state a fixed retention period for records controlled by those providers.

You may contact the operator to ask what information you have provided, request a correction, or request deletion of your correspondence. The response may depend on the information involved, identity verification where needed, and applicable obligations. Depending on your location, you may have additional data-protection rights.

Use your browser’s privacy settings to manage cookies. You can read these guides without sending an enquiry. If you contact us, share only the information needed for your request.

The intended audience is independent learners; the site does not ask visitors to submit a child’s personal information. If you believe such information has been sent in error, please contact the operator.
