Korean bank vocabulary: account, transfer, fee and identity check
Ask about required documents, fees, transfer limits and card status in Korean without sharing a password or assuming eligibility.
Use Korean to ask; let the bank verify the rule
A bank conversation is easier to follow when you can separate four ideas: the account, the action, the fee and the limit. 계좌 names the account; 이체 names a transfer. 수수료 is a fee, while 한도 is the maximum that applies to a particular service or situation.
You may not need to explain the whole problem at once. 하루 이체 한도를 확인하고 싶어요 tells a staff member that you want to check the daily transfer limit. From there, you can ask which documents or steps are needed for your account.
Separate account, action, cost and security
| Korean | Working meaning | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| 계좌 | account | bank record |
| 이체 | transfer | move funds |
| 수수료 | fee | cost of a service |
| 한도 | limit | maximum under stated conditions |
| 본인 확인 | identity verification | approved verification process |
| 비밀번호 | password / PIN | secret credential |
이체 describes moving money between accounts. 수수료 refers to the charge for a service, so 이체 수수료 is a transfer fee. A limit is a different kind of amount: it describes the maximum you can use under the relevant conditions.
본인 확인 means identity verification. 비밀번호 may refer to a password or a PIN depending on the service. Knowing the word is useful for understanding instructions; it does not mean you should announce the secret number in a conversation.
Ask for a current written explanation
| Pattern or sentence | Natural meaning | Point to notice |
|---|---|---|
| 어떤 서류가 필요해요? | Which documents are required? | current eligibility process |
| 이체 수수료가 얼마예요? | How much is the transfer fee? | specific cost |
| 하루 이체 한도는 어디에서 확인해요? | Where do I check the daily transfer limit? | period and function stated |
| 카드 상태를 확인해 주세요. | Please check the card status. | staff checks account record |
어떤 서류가 필요해요? asks which documents are needed. 어떤 focuses the question on the type of document. 이체 수수료가 얼마예요? asks for the amount of a transfer fee, with 얼마 doing the work of “how much.”
하루 이체 한도는 어디에서 확인해요? includes both the service and the period: a daily transfer limit. 어디에서 확인해요 asks where to check it. That wording is helpful if you need the staff member to show you the relevant part of an app or a written explanation.
Clarify a transfer limit without exposing credentials
| Speaker | Korean | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Customer | 하루 이체 한도를 확인하고 싶어요. | I want to check the daily transfer limit. |
| Staff | 본인 확인 후에 안내해 드릴게요. | I will explain after identity verification. |
| Customer | 어떤 서류가 필요한가요? | Which document is required? |
| Staff | 현재 계좌에 필요한 절차를 확인하겠습니다. | I will check the procedure for this account. |
The customer explains what they want to check. The staff member says they will give the information after identity verification. The customer then asks which document is needed, and the staff member promises to check the procedure for that account.
후에 means “after,” so 본인 확인 후에 places the explanation after the verification step. 안내해 드릴게요 is a polite offer to provide guidance. The dialogue ends before the actual limit or procedure is given.
Distinguish identification from secret authentication
This lesson provides language for asking questions, rather than a list of fees or account requirements. Those details depend on the bank, service and account. Naming the specific task helps the staff member give you the relevant answer.
If an explanation is difficult to follow, ask for it in writing: 적어 주시겠어요? means “could you write it down?” You can use that for a document name or an instruction without asking anyone to write down your password.
Correct likely misunderstandings
| Avoid | Use or check | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 비밀번호를 말하기 | 공식 입력 화면만 사용 | secret must not be shared |
| 한도만 묻기 | 하루 이체 한도 명시 | period and transaction matter |
| 블로그 서류 목록을 확정 규칙으로 사용 | 은행에 현재 요건 확인 | requirements change |
하루 is one day; an amount described as a daily limit is not automatically the maximum for each separate transfer. The period and the type of transaction both matter when understanding the answer.
계좌 and 카드 are related but different. An account is not the same thing as a card, so a question about 카드 상태 is a question about the card’s status. If you are discussing a transfer, 계좌 and 이체 keep the request more specific.
Try it in a familiar situation
You want to find the daily transfer limit, rather than the transfer fee. Which term belongs in your first question: 한도 or 수수료? If the bank asks for a document, how would you ask which one is needed?
Read the explanation
Use 한도: 하루 이체 한도를 확인하고 싶어요. 수수료 would ask about the cost of a service. 어떤 서류가 필요해요? asks which document you need. The question identifies the information you want without guessing the bank’s requirements.
A small listening check
Pronunciation help: Track safe verification
Listen for 한도와 수수료/공식 화면/확인 versus 비밀번호와 확인 코드/메시지로 보냈어요.
Listen and choose

Listen before choosing.
